STOCKING UP FOR WINTER

Stocking up for winter reading. I feel it’s time for a snuggle into children’s literature from the past, and this little selection from the Friends of Castlemaine Library should do the trick, spanning as it does a whole century, from the years 1899 (The Treasure Seekers) to 1969 (Fireweed).

WOW!! What a haul! I’m super jealous of Fireweed, which I’ve never read — don’t know Island of Horses — I remember reading Earthfasts in primary school and finding it very creepy. I don’t know Patrica Lynch at all. Apple Bough a favourite, and The Treasure Seekrs, obviously. Harriet and the Cherry Pie is also unknown to me!
    Keenly awaiting reports :0
